Leadership

As early as elementary school, I have always gone out of my way to pursue leadership opportunities to further my personal development. To me, if you have all of the skills in the world but are unable to lead, it will be very difficult to be successful. Below are some of the leadership opportunities that have shaped my experience at LSU and have helped develop my skills as a social media and PR professional.

Resident Assistant

LSU Residential Life | Aug. 2023 - May 2025

For the past two years, I have served as a resident assistant with LSU Residential Life. Working in both hall-style and suite-style bath communities, I have had the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships among a diverse group of residents.

Along with event planning, creating building decorations, and community administration, I enforce policies as defined by the LSU Living On-Campus Handbook when incidents arise and mediate conflict resolution meetings as needed.

In 2024, I was awarded the Most Valued Player award at our yearly RA banquet. This award was voted on by each community's staff and was given to the RA without whom the staff could not function. I was honored to receive this award, but I also recognize how essential teamwork is among LSU Residential Life to provide the upmost care and attention to every first-year student on campus. I was also awarded the Unsung Hero award in 2025 for my work in the SouthWest community, which is given to the RA who performs duties that is often not recognized by the rest of the team but are essential to the staff's success.

Communications
Marketing Intern

LSU Residential Life | Aug. 2024- May 2025

One of the aspects that I enjoyed the most about LSU Residential Life in my first year of working as an RA was its social media presence, so when I saw the LSU Residential Life communications marketing internship, I knew I had to jump on the opportunity to work with some fabulous communications professionals.

As a representative of my RA community, South and West Halls (SouthWest), I maintain and operate the community's Instagram page with posts at least once a week. I create engaging content using a variety of mediums (graphics, photos, video, etc.). for the account and LSU Res Life as a whole.

This experience has allowed me to develop my content creation skills as well as jumping on popular trends, pop culture references, and community-specific events to increase online engagement.

Deputy Chief of Staff

LSU Student Government | Aug. 2024 - May 2025

As Deputy Chief of Staff for LSU Student Government, I complete a majority of internal work that keeps Student Government organized and standardized. A large part of my role is maintaining records of our large executive staff, which consists of almost 100 students. Using a spreadsheet I have perfected down to a science, I monitor members' meeting attendance and student outreach (volunteer) points.

I also aid the Chief of Staff in sending out organization-wide emails called, "What's Up in Exec?" and planning out executive staff meetings.

As Deputy Chief of Staff, I am very proud of the end-of-semester report  I created for the student body President, Vice President, and Chief of Staff. Using member feedback, I collected data and raw responses to provide suggestions as to how the organization can improve in the future.

Director of Blogs & Vlogs

Manship Olympics Project | July 2024- Aug. 2024

As Director of Blogs and Vlogs for the Manship Olympic Project study abroad program, I oversaw a team of 7 students who specialized in written blogs and short-form and long-form vlogs/videos.

In the weeks leading up to the two-week program, I developed a large content calendar that outlined all social media and blog posts for the duration of the program and pre-planned content to be posted each day. This content calendar spanned beyond just the blogs and vlogs team, including our podcasting, social media, and photography posts.

Throughout the program, I also contributed significantly to social media (short-form video) and blog writing. The short-form content that I produced for the Manship Olympics' social media resulted in over 51,000 views from all videos combined.

Assistant Director of Marketing

LSU Student Government | May 2023 - May 2024

In my role as Assistant Director of Marketing, I worked alongside a team of five other assistant directors under the guidance of the director of marketing to produce graphics, photos, and short-form videos for LSU Student Government's social media pages. From making graphics and attending events, I was able to highlight the unique opportunities Student Government provides students year-round.

I was also one of the interns who worked to start and maintain LSU Student Government's TikTok account. This account was my first taste of harnessing trends and pop culture to promote more serious or professional aspects of Student Government.

Manship Ambassador

Manship School of Mass Communication |
April 2023 - May 2025

Manship Ambassadors serve as a resource for incoming, current, and prospective students as they seek resources, advice, and expertise from current students. From working events like the AP Style Smackdown or the Louisiana Scholastic Press Association conference, my time as a Manship Ambassador has provided me with the opportunity to give back to my senior college.

Speaking to incoming students, especially, is something that fills me with so much joy. I love inspiring students to pursue unique opportunities such as the Manship Olympics Project or commit to a career in Mass Communication.

Graphic Design Chair

LSU Musical Theatre Club | May 2024 - May 2025

The Graphic Design Chair of the Musical Theatre Club is responsible for creating all graphics for any events, performances, auditions, etc. that the club hosts. This role was quite challenging for me at first because it was uncharted territory for me design-wise. However, I quickly found a groove and began to settle into the position,

I've created graphics for televisions, flyers, Instagram square graphics, story posts -- essentially everything you can imagine! Designing graphics for theatre organizations requires a good bit of brain power and creativity, but I have been willing to take on challenges and difficulties along the way.

In addition to creating graphics for the organization, I also sit on the Musical Theatre Club Board, which is a team of individuals who work together to decide on performance opportunities, events, workshops, etc. that would best benefit the club. I enjoy this aspect of the position as it has allowed me to create meaningful connections and learn valuable lessons in the theatre field.

Bengal Bound Orientation Leader

LSU Office of Transition and Student Success - Feb. 2023 - Aug. 2023

As a Bengal Bound Orientation Leader, I made a direct impact on the lives of incoming LSU students. I served as a guide and source of information regarding academics, policies and procedures, campus services, activities, building locations, and all other aspects of life at LSU for incoming students. Through small group discussions during Bengal Bound Orientation and related experiences, I provided proactive coaching, mentoring, and encouragement to current and incoming students throughout their transition to LSU.

Most importantly, I fostered an inclusive, accepting atmosphere among all students and families to increase retention rates, belonging, and community on LSU’s campus.
